Parus major. This is a little creature my cat Erazma dragged in from the balcony. I was so distressed about it, because great tits (which are rather small, actually), are lovely songbirds and their music gives me much pleasure. The Slovene name is "sinica" (pronounced see-NEE-tsa).

Hilarious, sionnach. But to tell you the truth, the poor thing was in such a state I didn't get a good look at its nipples.

rolig, I read your comment too fast and thought your cat's name was Eczema. Then I read it again and STILL thought it was Eczema. I'm glad it is not, after all, named Eczema.
Speaking of tits.

c_b, I just came across your comment. Hilarious! Erazma is laughing about it, too. She was named for the Slovene "Robin Hood" Erazem Podjamski, who was a bandit in the Middle Ages and built a castle inside a cave (come to Slovenia and I'll show it to you. Erazma is the feminine form of the name, which is the Slovene version of the Latin name Erasmus. Curiously, I could find only one significant reference to the name Erazma/Erasma: St. Erasma was martyred in Aquileia, in the 4th century, I think; it's curious because Aquileia is not very far from Ljubljana, where I live, and used to have ecclesiastical domination over these parts.

A castle in a cave? Wow, sounds like a ship in a bottle, I'm curious now.

I think you can see a picture of Predjama Castle here, though this façade is from the 16th century; Erazem's castle was just the upper left-hand part of this, and extended into the cave.
